  • Description
  • Description

The PFEM develops metabolomics, fluxomics and proteomics tools and methods for applications in nutrition, health, the environment and food product quality.

It enables the identification and quantification of various biomarkers linked to nutritional status, the development/occurrence of disease, food quality and nutrient composition, and the interaction of biological systems with their environments.

It offers global analysis technologies based on mass spectrometry and NMR. The platform also has strong skills in statistics and bioinformatics.

Its expertise covers :

  • Non-targeted metabolomics: determination of metabolic profiles and identification of biomarkers in biofluids and tissues.
  • Quantification of small molecules present in the various compartments of organisms.
  • Fluxomics: isotopic enrichment measurements to calculate metabolic rates.
  • Proteomics: identification, characterisation and label-free quantification of proteins and peptides. Targeted proteomics. Imaging.

The PFEM is structured into two components: Metabolomics and Proteomics. Its metabolomics component is integrated into the MetaboHUB national metabolomics and fluxomics infrastructure.
