UEFM
Entomology and Mediterranean Forest Facility
- Description
- Description
The UEFM specialises in the implementation of experiments, observations and management tools for research programmes on the ecology of Mediterranean woodlands.
It is also involved in the management of long-term monitoring sites for forest stands in order to study their evolution (ecological, physiological, genetic) in the face of global change, and ensures the conservation of plant samples collected in the field, as well as their traceability thanks to an associated database.
It also carries out applied research into biocontrol techniques for insect pests of forests and Gardens, Vegetated Areas and Infrastructures (JEVI), mainly on three model pests (pine processionary, oak processionary, box tree borer), developing alternative control methods and strategies (pheromone trapping, mating disruption, biological control, etc.) and decision-making tools (AGIIR application). It also provides expertise on Bombyx disparate.
It is also involved in the IN-SYLVA INRAE Research Infrastructures and the RARe Forest Pillar.
