PhenoBois
Wood and Tree Physicochemical Phenotyping Facility for Genetic Resources
- Description
- Description
Phenobois is able to help progress in the analysis of major future issues related to forestry. Phenobois offers a wide range of measurements for direct or indirect assessments of phenotypic parameters related to the physico-chemical properties of wood and tree hydraulics. The platform can thus respond to many analytical projects in the fields of quantitative genetics, ecophysiology, genomics, molecular biology, anatomy, biochemistry and dendrochronology. In the end, the phenotyping tools set-up by Phenobois allow to (1) characterize wood specificities and understand the processes by which its tissues are produced, (2) study the adaptation and responses of trees to hydric stress, and (3) identify forest genetic resources that will be able to adapt to tomorrow's changing climate while still producing good quantities of quality wood.
