PHACC
Crops Field Phenotyping Facility
- Description
- Description
PHACC carries out field trials on 2 sites with very different conditions: 87 ha on the Limagne plain at the Crouel site, and 10 ha in the mid-mountain region at the Theix site for forage and cold tolerance trials. It is recognised for its medium- and high-throughput phenotyping capacity in a variety of areas: varietal evaluation, water stress, nitrogen stress, diseases, cold, etc.
The Unit has 3 experimental platforms at its 2 sites in Crouel and Theix.
Phéno3C: Phenotyping in the Field under Climatic Constraint:
- Study of the effects of climate change under semi-controlled conditions close to agronomic conditions.
- Control of water availability to simulate droughts and control of atmospheric CO2 concentration to mimic future conditions.
- Detailed characterisation of the climatic environment (air and soil).
- High-throughput phenotyping
DECLIC: Cereal Experimental System in Limagne at Crouel (70 ha)
- Experimentation on straw cereals,
- Variety evaluation and selection in nurseries
FoCAl: Forages and Cereals at Altitude (Theix)
- Evaluation of genetic material (forage and straw cereals) under semi-mountain conditions.
