OLA

OLA provides scientists with tools and resources (boats, probes, basins/mesocosms, laboratories, drones, etc.) to explore, understand and ultimately model changes in the state and ecological functions of lake environments that are simultaneously subject to local human pressures and climatic constraints.

The four major natural lakes in the peri-Alps (Lac d'Aiguebelette, Lac d'Annecy, Lac du Bourget and Lac Léman) are at the centre of this observatory, along with mountain lakes and a model lake (meromictic), Lac Pavin.

The 'Observation' section boasts 30 to 60 years' worth of data (on the major lakes in the Alps) for numerous biological and physico-chemical parameters.
