Ecology and Fish Population Biology Facility

Protecting aquatic ecosystems for the future.
  • Description
  • Description

ECP, which is part of the Hydrobiology Centre at St Pée sur Nivelle, offers studies on fish and aquatic resources in their environment:

  • Experiments on migratory fish, focusing on the study of the biology and behaviour of species
  • Monitoring migratory populations by trapping/counting individuals, stabling fish and capturing them in the natural environment.

Areas of application include

  • Managing fish populations and their environment to preserve resources and biodiversity
  • Population evolution
  • Evaluation of aquaculture species
  • Development of experimental ecology approaches (in controlled or natural environments), modelling and population genetics.
