CIRM

International Center of Microbial Resource of AgroBRC

Preserving microbial biodiversity for the future.
  • Description
  • Description

The CIRM (International Microbial Resource Center) networks 5 certified microbiological resource centers (CRB).   These CRBs conserve over 22,000 strains of plant-associated bacteria, pathogenic bacteria, bacteria of food interest, yeasts and filamentous fungi. CIRM's mission is to manage, characterize and promote these microbial collections, and to make them accessible to the scientific community and to the industries concerned.

Fields of expertise : Systematic sequencing and phenotypic characterisation using automated screening devices to assess the biodiversity of collections and their enzymatic, metabolic or biological potential.

The CIRM is the microbial pillar of the national Infrastructure RARe and is the french hub of the European infrastructure MIRRI (with the national collections of Institut Pasteur).
