XPO

XPO is a device aimed at characterizing biodiversity and understanding the functioning of continental aquatic ecosystems in a context of global change.

The approaches carried out mainly concern fish, crustaceans and aquatic plants. The work is in ecology, ethology and ecotoxicology targeting three levels of organization: populations, communities and ecosystems.

XPO's facilities, located in Cestas-Gazinet and Saint-Seurin-sur-l'Isle, are organized in 5 poles:

• Experimentation station of St Seurin
• Aquatic vegetation experiments
• Observation and Sampling of Aquatic Systems (Telemetry; Transect, Lyophilization; Electric Fishing)
• Sclerochronology
• Boats (Esturial and Small watercrafts)

XPO is part of two Research Infrastructures: LIFE and AnaEE.
