The UEAV is involved in the creation of new disease-resistant vine varieties and the agro-environmental evaluation of innovative agricultural practices.
- Multiplication and maintenance of plant genetic resources (mainly vines)
- Carrying out measurements and sampling in the field and environmental characterisation (phenotyping, sampling of plants, soil and leaching water, etc.).
- Carrying out experimental vinifications
- Maintenance and design of experimental equipment, adaptation of farm machinery to the needs of the experiment
- Agronomic expertise (returning organic waste products to the soil, reducing inputs, etc.).
The experimental estate has around 12 ha of vineyards, 50 ha of farmland, 2,200 m2 of greenhouses, a vinification cellar and 2 sample libraries.
