- Description
Located in a lowland area south of Poitiers (245 ha in an oceanic climate with marked summer drought), Ferlus conducts agronomic and agri-environmental experiments on sown meadows and forage crops, innovative dairy farming systems (cattle and goats) and their impact on the environment and biodiversity.
It hosts three long-term projects:
- an ORE-ACBB environmental observatory (agrosystems, biogeochemical cycles and biodiversity),
- an experimental system with three mixed-crop dairy goat farms (Patuchev)
- a system experiment on a mixed cropping-dairy farming system (OasYs).
It also conducts research into goat reproduction (Ferticap) and varietal selection and evaluation (VAPE).
