FBRC
Biological Resource Center on Forest Tree
- Description
- Description
The Forest Biological Resource Centre provides national and international scientific communities with forest biological resources for research purposes and associated phenotypic and genotypic data.
Distributed over 3 operational sites, Avignon (84), Orléans (45) and Pierroton (33), it brings together collections of nursery trees, seeds, pollen, needles, leaves, wood and DNA extracts.
These forest biological resources are used to meet both social challenges, such as adapting to climate change and maintaining the diversity of forest biological resources, and scientific challenges, such as determining the link between phenotype and genotype, understanding the mechanisms of response to environmental change and constructing new phenotypes.
The Forest Pillar is part of the RARe (Ressources Agronomiques pour la Recherche) research infrastructure.
