CRB-Anim
Biological Resource Center for Research on Domestic Animals
- Description
- Description
CRB-Anim brings together the Biological Resource Centers (BRCs) that manage genomic or reproductive resources for domesticated animal species bred in France and their wild relatives (mammals, birds, fish, shellfish, etc.). Around 600,000 biological samples (semen, embryos, cells, tissues, DNA, RNA).
It supports research into genetic diversity, breeding and biomedical models.
CRB-Anim's scientific strategy is divided into two main areas
- Genetic diversity : preservation, characterization and management of domestic breeds
- Remarkable biological models and phenotypes for fondamental research and medical applications
This research requires access to characterized biological samples and cryopreservation tools for biological resources.
CRB-Anim is the animal pillar of the RARe national research infrastructure.
