Launch of the Research Infrastructures Portal: a new platform to showcase scientific infrastructures

After a year of intensive collaborative work with INRAE's Information Systems Department (DSI), the LIRIC department is proud to announce the launch of its new portal dedicated to research infrastructures. Accessible from today at https://infrastructures-recherche.inrae.fr/en/, this site represents a significant step forward in the way research infrastructures (RIs) and collective scientific infrastructures (CSIs) can be made visible, shared and promoted to a varied public.

A collaborative project with INRAE's ISD

The launch of the research infrastructure portal would not have been possible without the numerous exchanges, scoping workshops and technical adjustments between the LIRIC department and INRAE's ISD. For a year, the two teams worked hand in hand to design and develop a tool that met the specific needs of researchers and infrastructure managers.

The main aim of the project was to create an intuitive, functional platform capable of comprehensively indexing the various research infrastructures available within INRAE. This portal gives users easy access to detailed information on each infrastructure, while offering interactive features to encourage the sharing of scientific content and events.

Advanced features to enhance the value of research infrastructures

The new portal stands out for its modern, high-performance functionalities, designed to facilitate navigation and the use of information. One of the major innovations is the integration of an advanced search engine. This tool enables users to filter and quickly find specific infrastructures according to various criteria such as scientific theme, geographical location or associated keywords. This search engine is designed to simplify the process of discovering infrastructures and to make information available in a more targeted way.

In addition, the portal offers research and collective scientific infrastructures increased visibility. They can also announce scientific events, facilitating the dissemination of relevant information and the networking of players in the field.

The launch of the portal is a response to the growing visibility and communication needs of research infrastructures, which are often overlooked or under-utilized due to a lack of access to up-to-date, centralized information.

Official launch at research infrastructures seminar

The site was officially opened to the public at the research infrastructure seminar held today, November 5. The seminar brought together experts, researchers and infrastructure managers to share their experiences and exchange best practices in the field of scientific infrastructure management and development.

The launch of the site is a key step towards strengthening synergies between infrastructures, promoting their optimal use, and increasing their impact on national and international research. The portal is also available in English.

A scalable platform thanks to Ibexa technology

The choice of the Ibexa technology solution, renowned for its ability to develop dynamic, scalable sites, has enabled us to create a scalable portal. Right from the launch, users can enjoy a fluid experience, both in terms of navigation and the functionalities on offer. However, the development team is already announcing a number of changes to come.

These will include further enrichment of accessible content, improvements to the user interface, and the integration of new functionalities designed to optimize knowledge sharing and collaboration between infrastructures, while exploiting the latest technologies to meet emerging challenges.

A new tool for the scientific community

The launch of the research infrastructures portal marks a new era in the promotion of INRAE's scientific infrastructures. By making these infrastructures more visible and accessible, the platform contributes to strengthening collaboration between research players, promoting the equipment and services available, and supporting the development of innovative scientific projects.

With this tool, the LIRIC department, in collaboration with INRAE's ISD, offers a valuable service to the scientific community, facilitating the networking and valorization of resources essential to the advancement of research. The portal is now online and accessible to all, and future developments promise to further enrich the services on offer.
